St Kilda and Balaclava Kindergarten acknowledges the significance of reconciliation for all Australians. We understand that this is a shared responsibility. We are committed to adopting significant practical changes to work towards reconciliation. 

Here at St Kilda and Balaclava Kindergarten we acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the world’s oldest cultures and aim to empower our community to learn from, and walk alongside, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Land. 

We understand and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contributions in shaping a shared sense of cultural unity and identity. To gain a better understanding and promote respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives, we strive to embed ways of knowing and doing into our curriculum and practices. 

We strive to spread awareness and encourage all our children, families, colleagues, and community to be activists, leaders, and advocates in building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
