Our vision for reconciliation at St Columban’s College is to provide culturally safe environment and inclusive opportunities which seek to develop and strengthen all student’s knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures, and perspectives.
We commit to actively engaging in reconciliation and fostering relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We recognise this is an ongoing commitment between St Columban’s College and the local First Nations Peoples within our community.
Respect, authentic dialogue, and action are central to the College’s commitment ensuring First Nations students, families and community experience equity and equality through creating culturally safe learning environments.
Our vision for reconciliation is to achieve an authentic understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives through education and active participation in the community.
St Columban’s College is a Christ centered learning community believing in liberation through education; empowering all to make a positive difference in the world. We follow in the footsteps of Edmund Rice and as such we aim to create a teaching and learning environment which fosters an inclusive, reconciled community and lives out a Gospel spirituality.
