At Goodstart Boronia Albert Avenue, our vision for reconciliation is for all children to gain a deeper understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, perspectives, and cultures. By teaching all children to acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s cultures and histories we hope this encourages future respect for others and a respect for the diverse identities and perspectives of Australia's First Nations peoples. We continue to strengthen our knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, through respectful connections with the Wurundjeri people, on whose Land we reside. Where appropriate and with permission from the Wurrundjeri people, we will respectfully share this knowledge to support and implement the development of the children’s understanding of, and respectful learning about, the histories of Australia's First Peoples. We will build meaningful and respectful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and community. These relationships influence will our pedagogy, leading to a deeper understanding of and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within our service.
