We at Ewing Kindergarten respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as Traditional Custodians of the Land. We offer our respect to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise and respect the cultural heritage of the Land.
We recognise and value the vast contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have made and are continuing to make to Australian society and culture.
We acknowledge past and present wrongs and wish to build respectful relationships between First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous people.
We want to move forward toward reconciliation in peaceful and respectful partnership where First Nations perspectives are accepted, recognised and heard.
We will learn more about the long standing and rich diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
We recognise the importance of sharing our learnings with our children and families. This gives all children, educators and families a richer understanding of Australia’s unique histories and cultures, while promoting feelings of pride and belonging at our service.
We do this by respectfully weaving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and being throughout our curriculum.
Here at Ewing Kindergarten we respect, value and celebrate the vibrant diversity of our community and beyond.
