Our vision for reconciliation at Goodstart Richmond is to strive to create a welcoming space where all people are welcome, accepted and connected. We aim to reach out to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the local community, to ensure reconciliation is seen and felt beyond physical spaces and recognises the connectedness of the Wurundjeri peoples to their Land.
We are committed to ensuring our service is a place that fosters conversations to make representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and contributions visible and meaningful. We will continue to share stories and the true histories of First Nations peoples throughout play and experiences as part of our everyday pedagogy and practices.
We acknowledge that our reconciliation journey is in the emergent stages, and to ensure that we have a high standard of cultural responsiveness, through an ongoing commitment to unlearning and learning and relearning of our shared histories. We will foster an environment that fosters opportunities to learn about diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures. We commit to providing both formal and informal learning within our service to ensure a consistent learning journey that deepens our knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives.
