VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Here at Peppercorn Early Learning Centre Kew, we are committed to working in a respectful way with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, organisations and communities. We will do this by actively recognising the diverse and dynamic nature of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures and acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' deep connections with lands, waters and communities.

Our vision for a reconciled Australia is a place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples' cultures are valued, respected and affirmed across all areas of society and where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples' rights are actively recognised .

We are committed to ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and all children, have equal, equitable and culturally responsive opportunities to exercise choices about the way in which they lead meaningful, healthy lives.

We acknowledge the RAP’s development and implementation is a continual process and we will add to it as we grow individually, as a team and as an organisation on our reconciliation journey. Our commitment mirrors our values of respect for diversity, inclusion, advocating the rights of children, justice, honesty and courage. It is our goal that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage is so deeply and respectfully embedded in learning environments and experiences in the future. so that the importance of reconciliation is entrenched in our being, belonging and becoming.
