Barry Road Preschool is committed to meaningful reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples within the community. We strive to foster a strong sense of being, belonging and becoming within our centre, where all children learn in an environment grounded in respect, inclusion and cultural understanding. Through authentic and age-appropriate learning experiences, we aim to enhance children, educators and families knowledge and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, heritages, cultures and perspectives. We are dedicated to building and maintaining positive and respectful relationships with the Wurundjeri people, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn and play. We commit to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives throughout our curriculum, programs and daily practices, ensuring reconciliation is lived and nurtured every day within our preschool community.
