VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our childcare service reconciliation plan is guided by a vision of actively engaging and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples ‘cultures and creating a safe and respectful space for staff and children. We are committed to fostering an environment where everyone acknowledges and pays respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their histories, and their rich cultural heritages. We aim to promote cultural understanding and create a safe place where everyone feels valued and connected. Our vision shaped around these element, which includes: Embracing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures: We strive to honor and learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ culture within our childcare service. We will actively incorporate Aboriginal perspectives, traditions, stories, art, music, language, and practices into our daily routines, learning activities, and environments.   Respectful Acknowledgment and Recognition: We are committed to fostering a culture of respect and recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.    Creating a Culturally Safe and Respectful Space: We will implement policies and practices that actively promote inclusivity, anti-discrimination, and cultural respect. Our environment will encourage open dialogue, empathy, and understanding, fostering an atmosphere where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to share their unique cultural identities and experiences.   Cultural Understanding & Learning and Collaborative Partnership: We will provide ongoing professional development opportunities for our staff to deepen their knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories, and perspectives. We recognize the importance of building collaborative partnership with local First Nations community members.
