Our vision for reconciliation is to assist in creating, and being a part of, an Australia that values and embraces Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s histories, cultures and values. We view the children at Kids by the Bay as the future leaders of Australia, and as part of this we recognise them as the future leaders for reconciliation. Kids by the Bay strives to foster children's respect for, and recognition of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their cultures, histories, and achievements. We aim to achieve this through our inclusive early childhood programs, environments, curriculum, and daily interactions with our children, educators, and families.
We endeavour to achieve this vision by building and encouraging relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, organisations, and the broader Australian community. We will respectfully build relationships with Elders and their communities and actively listen to their knowledge and teachings about their cultural heritages, customs, and traditional ways. We will embrace all concepts and ideas about reconciliation and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with respect, open hearts, and inclusive minds, and be open to new ideas and concepts that encourage critical reflection of our own teaching practices.
