Our vision for reconciliation at Lavender Lane Gungahlin is to embrace and encourage unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and other Australians, developing a culture that represents equality, equity, truthful acceptance of our shared history and removal of negative race relations. We at Lavender Lane Gungahlin are actively committed to embracing an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families have equal and equitable life opportunities and we believe that all children, young people and families should be safe, thriving and respected.
We at Lavender Lane Gungahlin feel that reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all. Our aim is to educate all children in our care about our aspirations towards a reconciled future whilst incorporating a sense of being, belonging and becoming within our centre. We at Lavender Lane Gungahlin will continue to provide children with a range of learning experiences delivered in a respectful way and which enhance knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, heritage, and continuing contributions. We aim to foster connections with First Peoples within both the centre and broader community, with a particular focus on developing and maintaining positive relationships with, and links to, the local Ngunnawal People.
