At Hobartville Long Day Preschool, we are committed to walking alongside First Nations peoples on the journey of reconciliation. We acknowledge the Darug people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live, learn, and grow, and we honour their deep and enduring connections to Country, culture, language, and community.
Our vision is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where reconciliation is lived every day. We will respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our curriculum, drawing upon the rich stories, knowledge, and traditions of the Darug people of the Hawkesbury area. Through daily practice, children will be supported to develop a deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and a meaningful understanding of our shared history.
We strive to be a place where every child and family feels safe, valued, and welcomed. Our centre is a space where cultural identity is celebrated, and where First Nations families are welcomed to share their histories, traditions, and voices. By fostering open dialogue and genuine relationships, we aim to build a community grounded in respect, understanding, and unity.
Through continuous learning and reflection, we commit to growing as educators and as allies, working toward a future of equity and belonging for all.
