Goodstart Early Learning recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and as the Custodians of the Land on which we all live and work.
Our vision for reconciliation is to continue to build, encourage and strengthen relationships between our early learning service, the broader Australian community, and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities that we live and learn in. Through this vision, we are laying the foundations to grow generations that actively value and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and heritages as a proud part of a shared national identity.
We are continuing to develop partnerships based on mutual trust, respect and recognition of the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples ‘cultures as enduring, living cultures and we respect and value the cultural insights that we learn about as we establish strong links between the centre and the children, families and communities with whom we work.
By actively acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the Land, the Wiradjuri people, on which we live and learn, we continually work together to educate ourselves and each other about Australia’s true histories and about respecting and progressing the journey towards reconciliation.
