Reconciliation means all Australians coming together to acknowledge and understand the true history of Australia and acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Reconciliation means being respectful of the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and building meaningful connections and relationships with the local First Nations communities. We will respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our everyday practice with acknowledgement to the values we share through our learning. A reconciled Australia involves acceptance and an acknowledgment that is grounded in the truth of past events that continue to affect First Nations People. Reconciliation underpins an equal and equitable, just, harmonious society, where every person can thrive.
