At Gwydir Day Care and Preschool, we aspire to create a future where everyone is respectful and understands the impact of our true Australian history. We are committed to advocating to be proud of the ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their cultures. As a community we aim to learn and help teach our future generations about our true history and the Original Owners of the land we live, play and work on. We are committed to striving to listening to and learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people so we can do better. We are committed to embedding awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander relationships with Country, into our daily practice. We will respectfully encourage and inspire the children to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through play, and by going out and being part of the community through excursions and by inviting Aboriginal Elders and community members to be part of our learning community.
