Goodstart Kurri Kurri

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

We at Goodstart Early Learning Kurri Kurri envision the children, families and staff working collaboratively to respectfully learn about, experience and embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditions, heritage and cultures. We want Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and community members, and all who are part of our service community, to feel safe, secure and supported.

We want to acknowledge and embrace the Traditional Owners. We will respectfully share their stories, unite their passion for Country, and work alongside them to transform our community.

We have a local vision, that our community will respectfully learn, understand and teach about the Wonnarua culture as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in general. Our local Aboriginal community will continue to feel pride in the Wonnarua culture and be supported to pass on local customs, traditions, and language to future generations.

Our vision is for all to accept and understand historical events, to unite and work with each other, to actively recognise the First Peoples of Australia and to continue to strive and expect nothing less than equity and equality for all.
