The Awabakal Land is the Aboriginal Land on which we play and learn each day here at Carey Bay Preschool. We pay respect to the Elders, both past, present and emerging, and extend this to all First Nations peoples in our community. We continue to connect and build strong and meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our preschool community with authenticity and pride. Carey Bay Preschool is committed to reconciliation and closing the gap. Therefore, we are proud of our Narragunnawali Reconciliation Action Plan in which we actively work towards in our curriculum. Educators are committed to an ongoing learning journey in building their respect, understanding and knowledge of First Nations Peoples and their culture. We continue to embed First Nations peoples’ perspectives and cultures into the program and utilise the various learning opportunities to ensure that our students and staff are able to access knowledge and activities around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives.
