Our vision for reconciliation is that every young child has the opportunity to thrive and learn in a nation that honours, respects and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and being. We aim for all children and educators to understand that reconciliation is about moving beyond regret to responsibility, respect and action.
We have a role in ensuring that young children learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and heritages, and that we services build respectful and reciprocal relationships with local community members, and, where appropriate, learn and embed their histories, cultures and perspectives into our teaching programs.
We recognise the importance of celebrating the achievements of individuals and communities, promoting positive contemporary examples of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identities.
