At Beacon Hill Community Kindergarten our vision for reconciliation is to educate children, families and community about the First Nations peoples of Australia. We aim to establish respectful and real connections with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to develop our own knowledge about perspectives heritage and traditions and be able to share these where appropriate with our staff, families and children.
Beacon Hill Community Kindergarten acknowledges and values the cultural histories, heritages, knowledge and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We teach respect for the Land on which we are playing and learning and hope to increase our own and the children’s understanding of the care that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have taken and continue to take as the Traditional Custodians of the Gayamaygal and Garigal Country that we teach and learn upon.
