Reconciliation is a personal and shared learning journey for educators, children and families at Little Diggers. It is something for EVERYONE at our preschool to understand and be a part of. We continue to foster a culture of respect, where we come together in harmony to actively engage with the rich histories and cultural diversity and continuing contributions of First Nations peoples across the amazing place we call Australia.
We truly believe in early education and in children having the power to create change for their own and future generations. We deepen knowledge about, and genuine engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures among our children and their families, so that they can carry on their learning in future.
We understand the need for continued learning and for starting important conversations about, and actions towards reconciliation. It’s never too late to un-learn and re-learn together and, to shape positive international change.
We acknowledge that we are now all responsible for looking after this Land and we make a promise to educate our children and families on the importance of taking care of it. We are thankful for the amazing bush landscape on which our preschool sits, the abundance of wildlife that visits us weekly and the opportunities we have to learn more about the local history and culture.
