Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. A national culture that represents equity, equality, historical acceptance of our shared history and dismantling of institutional racial inequality. We aspire to see our national soul healed and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and contributions to be fully valued within our practice.
Deepening our knowledge about cultural responsiveness engages all educators in their professional conversations, supporting them in having a practice in which inclusion and respect are key themes in relation to teaching and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples contributions, heritages and experiences.
We advocate for a culturally harmonious environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, perspectives and values are visible in the learning environment through incorporation of meaningful, relevant, and culturally appropriate learning through our programs, as directed by Aboriginal community members.
