At Only About Children (Enmore), our collective vision for reconciliation is to create a space in which our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families can enter, see themselves reflected and feel included in the learning environment, pedagogy, curriculum and community. We want to support all families, educators, children and visitors to acknowledge that we gather on Gadigal Land, as well as acknowledge the Gadigal peoples expansive knowledge of the Land and community. We would like to commit ourselves to continuous connection and learning about the Gadigal peoples and the knowledge they have of this Land which they have belonged to for thousands of years. We recognise our position as educators and our influence in young people's lives, and therefore the future of our community, and through our vision, we'd like to see our children feeling empowered and using their voice to create positive change in this world, including speaking out against injustices. OAC Enmore is built upon Gadigal Land, of the Eora Nation, and we are committed to telling the truth about the history of the Land in age-appropriate ways. We will acknowledge the strength, courage and bravery of First Nation's Peoples, and shine the spotlight on First Nations resilience in the face of hardship. We are committed to including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our projects and curriculum. In doing so we hope to inspire our young people about First Nations histories, cultures and contributions, instilling deep respect for the longest living cultures in the world. We are committed to creating an environment where staff, children and their families can discuss the histories and resilience of First Nation's Peoples.
