VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At EWP reconciliation is a process that acknowledges the true history of Australia and past, understands its impact on the present. Weembrace a future in which all children are supported to realise their potential and dreams through equal and equitable educational outcomes. We believe that reconciliation is the responsibility of all Australians, and our vision is for an Australia that represents equality and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and celebrates the richness of First Nations peoples cultural diversity. Our vision is an Australia that acknowledges the wisdom and knowledge that the Traditional Owners and Custodians hold and recognises and respects our shared history.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan will ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their cultures and histories are appreciated and by everyone at EWP. Our Reconciliation Action Plan will support us in nurturing and maintaining meaningful partnerships and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, families, and organizations so that we can learn from each other as we together work towards building a more equitable and socially just nation. As Early Childhood educators, we understand we are in the unique position of sharing our reconciliation journey with new generations of children and their families, thereby deepening understanding and enhancing positive attitudes to reconciliation.

We continue to respectfully include many aspects of First Nations peoples, perspectives and cultures in our program. We want to include a variety of First Nations voices and perspectives in our daily learnings and teachings.
