One Tree Hill Primary School acknowledges and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We will build meaningful relationships and work in partnership with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to support all staff, students and the wider community to deepen their understanding of reconciliation. We will provide opportunities for our staff to develop and strengthen their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and learn from members of the Kaurna community. We will work in consultation with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to teach students. Our staff are committed to ensuring that all children and staff recognise and appreciate the important role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the community and ensuring that we will focus on equity, equality and opportunities for all. Our vision is to have a high quality, collaborative, culturally safe learning environment for all of our local community, providing equal opportunities for First Nations students and people. We will respectfully embed a sense of pride of the continuing achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and create a community based on honesty, respect and sensitivity, that is free from racism through a foundation of the Five Dimensions of reconciliation, Equity, Equality, Historical acceptance, Race Relations, Institutional Integrity and Unity.
