VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is an inclusive future full of equity, equality, respect, and understanding about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories.

We seek to create a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are valued, respected, and have equal and equitable opportunities for success. Our goal is to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children and families to feel a sense of belonging in our service and feel respected and valued in an environment of cultural responsiveness.

We understand that it will be an ongoing process to develop and implement the Reconciliation Action Plan and build upon staff’s knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories and build a workplace of cultural responsiveness and awareness.

We work towards making our curriculum authentic and respectful, reflecting the richness and diversity of First Nations cultures and histories.  We will achieve this by creating a culturally inclusive environment, recognising and respectfully promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures and perspectives, and actively honouring the significant and ongoing contributions made by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Australian society.

We strive to be a community where all educators, children and families are engaged in reconciliation
