At Hendon Primary School, we strive for reconciliation as a significant value for our whole school community. People within our school community come together from a broad range of cultural backgrounds, all with a great respect and appreciation for Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander peoples, and for First Peoples’ connections to Lands, waterways, traditions, and spirituality. Our vision begins with creating an environment that strengthens connection and engagement within the whole school community. Doing so will allow the opportunity to provide a respectful and culturally safe and responsive place for First Nations people. We are committed to developing a school dynamic that represents equality and equity for all. We are dedicated to respectfully embedding Kaurna perspectives and practices within our school community when approaching all elements of our work and education. We are committed to collaboratively developing strategies and platforms that foster equal, equitable and culturally responsive educational and well-being opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, and all students in our School community.
