We seek to further our relationship with the Yuwibara People, the Traditional Owners of the Land on which our school and kindergarten resides. Students and staff will be encouraged to learn and further their understanding about our shared history and the rich traditions of Country and its people. They will build and encourage relationships between First Nation peoples, communities, organisations, and the broader Australian community.
Only when we are knowledgeable, can we truly value, foster and embed respect for the world’s longest surviving cultures and communities. Therefore, we commit to walking and learning together for reconciliation with the Traditional Custodians of Australia, to raise awareness, equity, equality and respect for First Nations Peoples, perspectives and histories.
In striving for reconciliation, we take a journey forward to allow us to celebrate existing partnerships, establish new partnerships and ensure the ethos of cultural safety and reconciliation is fully embedded across everything we do here at Calen District State College and C&K Calen Community Kindergarten and through a new generation of young Australians.
