At St Marys, we acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live, learn, and grow.

We recognise their deep spiritual connections to Country and the wisdom embedded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and traditions. 

Our vision is to create a school community where reconciliation is lived through respect, truth-telling, and justice.

We strive to celebrate and promote respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and heritages among all students, staff, families and communities.  We will respectfully embed First Nations perspectives across our curriculum, environment, and practices in ways that are culturally safe and inclusive. 

We will acknowledge past injustices and commit to building a shared future grounded in mutual respect and understanding and respond to the Uluru Statement from the Heart by listening deeply to the voices of First Peoples of Australia in the spirit of Mercy. 

Through these commitments, we seek to walk together in partnership with First Nations people, learning from the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the local community, and to foster a learning community that champions reconciliation through compassion, justice, and hope.
