St Peter’s Catholic Primary School is a Catholic faith community, embodying the Gospel values of freedom and love, with a vision for reconciliation. As part of our vision for reconciliation, we seek to nurture a visible and pride in and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, Histories, Cultures and Languages through active participation in, and around, our school community. We honour local relationships and respectful engagement as we continue to build stronger and more inclusive pathways for students and staff at St Peter’s Catholic Primary School to know and value the stories, contributions and aspirations of the First Peoples of the local Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) area. To promote equality and equity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and other Australians, we commit to creating a culturally safe and understanding environment for our students and families. We recognise the place and significance of the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which the school stands as integral in our reconciliation journey and are committed to building strong links with local Elders to ensure that localstories and cultural values are respectfully shared and actively acknowledged.
