Harristown State Schools vision for reconciliation is collaboration for success. We are passionate about improving educational outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and all students through recognition of the diverse range of learners and their unique cultural identities. Our vision for success moving forward is to work in collaboration with students, staff, families and the wider First Nations community to develop a better understanding and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives which are respectfully embdedded into the curriculum and, in turn, into the classroom and school community with authenticity and integrity. Our approach will focus around the five-dimensions, in accordance with Reconciliation Australias Reconciliation in Australia report. At Harristown, we understand that progress needs to happen holistically. We will endeavour to focus our commitment across these areas to ensure equality and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and all people.
