Mother Teresa Primary School proudly supports our national effort to bring about reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Being grounded in truth, we acknowledge the past wrongs inflicted on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and recognise and value their long continuing and rich cultural and spiritual life and contributions to Australian society.
Mother Teresa Primary School is therefore committed to being a community where all students are provided with an educational experience that promotes actions of reconciliation to move forward together, to openly see and improve how we, as a school community, view, treat, accept and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their cultures.
Our vision for reconciliation provides equal and equitable educational opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, recognising their diversity, and celebrating individual differences and achievements for all students.
In keeping with our Catholic charism and ethos of being a people of Compassion, Peace, Prayer, Service, and Love, we proudly support and encourage all students to actively engage in the process of reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community.
Our school motto, to ‘always do small things with great love,’ calls us to ensure that our steps are taken together in meaningful partnership with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the community to create rich, purposeful, and sustained change into the future.
