Our vision for reconciliation at Gumdale State School is to be a place of inclusion, respect, and a diverse environment where the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are acknowledged and celebrated. Students are provided with opportunities to develop their understandings and respect for First Nations peoples through learning experiences in the classroom, around the school and within the community. Through consultation and collaboration with local First Nations leaders and peoples, we strive to create a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' histories and cultures are acknowledged and respected. Where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous children feel culturally safe and have equal and equitable opportunities within the school environment.
