At Mount Ommaney Special School, we strive for reconciliation between First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous people. We believe reconciliation starts by acknowledging the true histories of Australia and the ongoing impacts of colonisation on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We commit to acknowledging and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' contributions and voices in our daily school life and embedding First Nations perspectives within our daily practices. We aim for all to have a truthful understanding about the foundations of Australia within a national narrative that is honest and inclusive.
