At Woody Point Special School, reconciliation is a shared vision that is focused on building and strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the community and is built on a school culture that values diversity, inclusion and the unique strengths of every student. Our commitment to reconciliation is underpinned and guided by three key elements of the Narragunnawali RAP Framework: relationships, respect and opportunities.
We continue to strengthen our understanding of reconciliation by maintaining culturally safe and responsive learning environments. We will continue to foster positive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
Through continuing to provide opportunities for students, families and staff to deepen their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories and perspectives.
We will ensure there are opportunities for families, students, staff and the wider community to actively participate in our RAP and our reconciliation journey. We will continue to provide equal and equitable educational opportunities and outcomes for all students through strengthening our partnerships with First Nations peoples within our school community.
