VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

The Wodonga Federation of Schools’ vision is that the rich and diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and experiences are respected and engaged with by all. We are committed to ongoing professional development to enrich our knowledge and understanding of these cultures, histories and experiences, so that we can respectfully embed the perspectives of First Nations peoples’ perspectives into our curriculum and acknowledge the national days of significance. We recognise and acknowledge that we are teaching on Aboriginal Land, and we are dedicated to continuing to learn from the local Traditional Owners, the Dhudhuroa people.

We will strive to create a schooling environment that is respectful, inclusive and culturally safe for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families and the wider community; An environment in which we aim to support every student to engage with truth, justice and healing through reconciliation; An environment in which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and students have the opportunity to achieve their potential and feels strong in their cultural identity.
