At Killester College, our vision for reconciliation is to acknowledge the histories, cultures and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. In doing so, we acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' ongoing stewardship of the Lands and 60,000 years+ of rich, diverse cultures.
As a Kildare Education Ministries school, in the Brigidine Tradition, our vision for reconciliation promotes the values embedded and supported by our core values of Justice, Compassion, Hope, Hospitality, Courage and Wonder. We are called to walk in solidarity with First Nations people, seeking to continue to develop respectful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
We aim to promote authentic reconciliation and to educate and empower staff, students and the wider community, and to deepen our knowledge and understanding of First Nations Peoples, histories, cultures and perspectives.
As a Catholic School that is enriched by diverse cultures, we aim to work towards a future that cultivates respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as all people within Australia.
