VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Reconciliation at Blackburn Lake Primary School means acknowledging and respecting the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We aim to foster strong and authentic relationships between First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. We commit to providing opportunities for staff, families and children to develop their knowledge of First Nations peoples cultures and perspectives through our curriculum. Together we work towards a future where reconciliation is a lived reality, and every member of our school community contributes to a more inclusive and respectful environment. Our vision for reconciliation is for all students, educators, teachers, families and the wider community to value and learn about cultures, perspectives and histories of the First Peoples of Australia.
