VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

The ACT Specialist Schools Cluster RAP is committed to creating a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures are taught, valued and respected.

As a Cluster, we address the two distinct needs and opportunities identified by the Australian Curriculum’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures Cross-Curriculum Priority namely:

•That Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students may see themselves, their identities and their cultures reflected in the Curriculum and in and their day-to-day school life, and   •That all students may come to appreciate, celebrate and respect the World's oldest continuous living cultures, and in this way, engage in reconciliation.

We will work together as an inclusive, respectful community to ensure all voices are heard and respected as we move towards unity between one another.

 We will achieve this by:

•Meaningfully engaging with and respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures throughout our teaching and learning environments.  •Working collaboratively with First Nations families and community members and providing meaningful opportunities to share their knowledge and cultures across our schools.  •Acknowledging the true histories of our country, and developing our understand
