At Mt St Patrick Primary School, we continue to build a reconciled community, and to develop rich and positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community.
We will continue to respectfully engage with Australia’s First Nations peoples’ histories and cultures through our curriculum, prayer and symbols.
We are people who care and who are committed to working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to increase respect, reduce prejudice and strengthen unity in our society.
We will shape and educate children to become people who will reflect on the past, act in the present and look forward to the future to work and learn together in harmony towards reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We are life-long learners, who are passionate about the need to engage in learning experiences, which deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures.
We are people of heart and pride, who hope for a reconciled Australia where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and given equal and equitable opportunities.
“Be Brave, Make Change” is the theme for 2022 which serves as a reminder of the individual power we all hold to have a positive impact along the journey to reconciliation. Every day we have the chance to make mindful decisions that make a big difference, through our thoughts and actions.
