Uralla Central School acknowledges the Anaiwan people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land upon which we live, learn and grow. Our vision for reconciliation is to create a culturally safe environment through walking and working together, unified in respectful partnerships with First Nations families and communities.
We are committed to truth-telling and acknowledging the impact of past injustices that continue to impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to this day. We understand difficult conversations and truth-telling are essential in ensuring the healing process of relationships between First Nations people and all Australians, and in moving forward towards reconciliation. We will authentically and respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our teaching and learning programs. We will provide ongoing culturally responsive training for staff to support their professional development.
As a school community, we aim to empower all students with the knowledge that reconciliation is a lifelong process which supports their development as active and informed citizens.
