Newcastle Middle School has a shared vision across the Newcastle Schools community. Our vision is built on reconciliation, equality, equity, collaboration, consistency, high expectations and authentic inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives for all First Nations and non-Indigenous students. We aim to create, build, and strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, communities, and organisations. Education is the means to teach and shape children’s beliefs and understandings of the world, and at Newcastle School we want to instill a sense of belief for an equitable, equal, and just society for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and a reconciled Australia for generations to come. Our reconciliation journey can and will be a positive influence in every child's journey. “… A reconciled Australia is one where our rights as First Australians are not just respected but championed in all the places that matter …” Kirstie Parker – Board Member, Reconciliation Australia
