Reconciliation at Highgate ELC means cultivating a positive representation of what Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures means and relates to us as a whole centre community. This includes meaningful actions that contribute to our understanding in respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our education program and service's culture. Reconciliation means acknowledging and understanding Australia’s true history, and the resulting issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Reconciliation at Highgate ELC means connecting with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait community and peoples at Ashburton. We will continue to create relationships to strengthen the connections between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people towards reconciliation.
