My Grandmother's Lingo (Secondary)

overview

This activity encourages students to engage with ‘My grandmother’s lingo’, an innovative and interactive animation resource that provides users with a unique and powerful opportunity to better appreciate the context, complexity and continued significance of Australia’s First Languages.

‘My grandmother's lingo’ connects users with the story of Angelina Joshua, a passionate and determined young Aboriginal woman from East Arnhem Land’s remote Ngukurr community. The resource was produced by SBS in collaboration with animator Jake Duczynski, and DJ Kuren (Curtis Kennedy).
