We at Community Kids Greenway Park, believe reconciliation is about unity, strength, and working together to build an opportunity for the wider community, families and children to understand the importance of reconciliation, a coming together of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples. We believe in embedding a practice of teaching, co-construct learning, welcoming Elders and the wider Community to support and continue the growing need for understanding reconciliation. We would like to continue to critically reflect on our current practices and how we can incorporate the Early years Learning Framework and the NSW Teaching Standards to educate families, children and the wider community about reconciliation and why it is important. We believe reconciliation is a healing process and an understanding of equality and equity for all. We believe in strengthening the community to acknowledge and understand the importance of knowing we are all different, however we work in harmony to build a stronger generation who respect each other’s values and understandings.
