Here at The Learning Space Coburg we strive for a welcoming and inclusive space for people of all cultures and beliefs, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. We are committed to engaging children in a developing a deep joy for learning and to nurturing curious minds and kind hearts. In doing so, we will work towards educating these growing minds to develop a truthful understanding of our shared history in Australia and of how we can respect and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives in our practice. We view reconciliation as a meaningful learning process, bringing shared knowledge together in every moment and practice throughout the day. We want children to know and respect the shared history of Australia through their learning and are committed to respectfully incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander practices and perspectives in our curriculums and throughout our ever-growing centre journey towards reconciliation. We honour children's voices and ideas and will encourage them to speak up and out on the things that matter to them, and to the shared reconciliation movement. We will embrace children as agents of change who deeply care about their enviionment and the world around them and will nurture and honour the hearts, spirits and minds of children to contribute to a better world. Together, we are committed to learning about and actively respecting the histories and the future aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
