Little Peoples Place Early Learning Centre Vasse

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Little Peoples Place Vasse acknowledges and values the cultural histories, heritages, traditions, and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We recognise the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, in particular to the education of young children, and recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and pedagogies have continued to exist since long before our early learning centre's story began.

Our vision is of a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively recognised as the First Nations peoples of Australia; where all Australians embrace Elders past, present and future for the wisdom and knowledge they hold and share; and where emerging leaders in local communities are supported.

We aim to contribute to an Australia, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children and families feel a sense of belonging and strong connections with community and Country; where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultural identities are respected; and where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, alongside all children, are recognised, comfortable and nurtured in a fully inclusive learning environment.
