Our Reconciliation Action Plan aims to build a greater understanding, respect and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, traditions and continuing contributions with the children, families, educators and therapists of KU Starting Points Macarthur.
We recognise the diversity, strengths and journey of First Australians and seek to advocate for equality and equity through open dialogues, mutual respect and ongoing partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
We are committed to building strong, respectful and collaborative relationships with the local Aboriginal people of our region, the Dharawal people, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of all Nations.
We will strive to promote an inclusive community where humanity, dignity and respect for all are valued.
By embracing opportunities to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures of Australia, we endeavour to build our capacity to engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities.
We aim to encourage and strengthen the cultural awareness and competence of all staff by providing opportunities to be involved in culturally appropriate professional development.
We seek to increase the presence of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, knowledge and histories in more significant and meaningful ways across all teaching and learning environments, by respectfully embedding local cultures and Aboriginal perspectives into our everyday educational curriculum, inclusive of the Allied Health Team, therapy and skills early intervention programs.
