VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Reconciliation, to us, is something that is a part of our curriculum, pedagogy and culture of our Kindergarten. We will continue to honour and value all cultures of our community and seek ways to acknowledge, explore and celebrate the cultures of our families and the ways of being, histories and perspectives of our nation’s First Peoples. We wish to create a culture that is inclusive, feels safe, is welcoming and values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We are committed to making and extending meaningful connections with local Elders and community members, and to engaging in important dialogues and activities between our Kindergarten, staff and Elders. Something that we will continue to celebrate in our roles towards reconciliation is supporting our children to take home what they learn and to share with their families, widening families’ understandings and knowledge about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures as well.
