Gymea Pre-Kindergarten

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Gymea Pre-Kindergarten, we acknowledge the Dharawal people as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Land on which we teach, learn and live. We will continue to focus on teaching our children about the Traditional Owners of the Land and we aim to embed a culture of respect for diversity across our centre community. We aim to achieve our RAP goals by further strengthening genuine relationships with our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and by making a commitment to implementing positive and sustainable change. We acknowledge the need to work collaboratively with families, children, and the wider community to strengthen our understanding of local histories and cultures of the Dharawal people. We aim to create a learning environment in which children have the opportunity to develop an understanding of the importance of reconciliation and one in which educators can further develop their knowledge and dedication to promote respect, ongoing reflection, awareness and a commitment to reconciliation.
