Torquay Early Learning Centre

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Torquay Early Learning Centre recognises, values, and is mindful of the cultural histories, heritages and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our centre is built, the Waddawurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We are privileged to be standing on Waddawurrung country.

Our vision incorporates and celebrates a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised as being the First Nations peoples of Australia. Within this vision we embrace, respect, and acknowledge the past Elders for their knowledge and wisdom, and welcome, support and encourage present and future Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our community.

Torquay Early Learning Centre is working to achieve strong connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our community, and through education, understanding, and shared goals, we aim to ensure that all people feel a sense of belonging and acceptance at our centre.

We look forward to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and language within our practices and policies, and eagerly anticipate the challenges ahead.
