KU ANSTO

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

The team at KU ANSTO Children’s Centre recognises that we have never truly understood the impact of past policies on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are now beginning to understand what we can do, to help achieve a just and equitable place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and all people, in this country.

We understand the need to hear, listen and learn the truths about our nation’s history, and respect what Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples believe are the best ways forward for themselves and for the country as a whole to achieve reconciliation.

KU ANSTO’s reconciliation journey will be developed with respect and support for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We aim to reach out to our local communities as a first step in making connections with the long term goal of forging some solid relationships.

We hope our conversations with children open their minds to other world views, and that we create a truthful learning space of acceptance and understanding of the ways to redress past injustices and ensure the future is a better place.
